Contact us

Email support@auralis24.com. We aim to reply within two business days.

You can also report a data problem without leaving the app: open any scan result and tap Report incorrect or missing information. That opens the Report product data form, where you can flag a missing product, incorrect ingredients, an incorrect verdict, or a certificate concern. The barcode is filled in for you, and contact details are optional.

Common questions

The product wasn’t found

Halalens looks products up in the Open Food Facts database, which does not yet contain every item, and coverage varies by country. If a product is missing, read the ingredients with the ingredient-label scanner instead, or submit it with the in-app report form so it can be added.

What does “Check required” mean?

It means the available evidence cannot settle the question. A scan cannot establish slaughter method, hidden processing aids, alcohol used in preparation, shared fryers, or cross-contamination. Rather than guess, Halalens tells you to confirm with the manufacturer or certifier.

I think a verdict is wrong

Please report it from the result screen, or email us. Include the barcode and the product name. Reports enter a review queue and need supporting verification before Halalens data changes — a report does not flip a verdict on its own. Verdicts based on certificates are re-checked against the certificate’s validity dates, so a product can change status when a certificate expires.

The barcode won’t scan

Make sure the whole barcode sits inside the frame and the label is well lit; there is a flashlight toggle on the scanner screen. Halalens reads EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128 and QR codes. You can always type the digits in yourself with Enter barcode manually. Scanning needs camera permission: on iOS open Settings › Halalens › Camera, on Android open Settings › Apps › Halalens › Permissions.

There is no barcode on the product

Use the ingredient-label scanner: point the camera at the ingredients list and Halalens will read it directly.

Restaurant search isn’t showing anything

Grant location permission when prompted, or type a city, suburb, postcode or country instead. Listings come from public OpenStreetMap data, so coverage varies by area. A listed certificate is shown as listed, not verified — always confirm it with the venue. Halalens never requests background location and does not store location history.

What Halalens costs

Halalens is free. Barcode scanning, halal verdicts, certificate checks, ingredient screening, product search and restaurant search are never paywalled. The only metered feature is AI analysis of food photos: you get three meal checks each calendar month, and the allowance resets at the start of the next month.

There is no subscription and no in-app purchase of any kind, so there is nothing to cancel and no billing to manage. If that ever changes, this page will explain how it works before the change ships.

Deleting your data

Food preferences, saved products and scan history are stored on your device. Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling removes them. No account is required to use Halalens. For anything else, email us using the address above.

Privacy

Read our privacy policy. Barcode camera frames are processed on your device while scanning, data travels over HTTPS, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
